Welcome to BlazeRoutes

Thank you for choosing to use BlazeRoutes to take your pest control business to the next level. We have worked hard, using years of industry experience, to build a product that we want to use and we hope you'll find that it meets your needs as well.

This document is designed to help you get up and running with BlazeRoutes and get back to caring for your customers and business as quickly as possible.

Organization Details

After your first login, you will want to add the details of your company and understand where to manage users. The organization management is done through clicking on the name of your company at the top left and then clicking the "manage" button. From here, you can invite additional users as well as fill out the details of your organization:

Payments Integration

BlazeRoutes partners with Stripe, a leading online payments platform, for handling credit card processing. As soon as possible, you'll want to start the Payments Integration process so you can easily invoice and collect for your services. You'll find this section under the Settings -> Payments Integration:

After you click "Add Information", you'll be redirected to Stripe to collect the required business details that will allow you to accept credit cards. Once complete, you'll be able to process payments within the desktop application as well as the mobile app for Technicians.

⚠️ You'll want to have your business details such as legal name, ownership, and tax identification number available for this process.

You can typically begin collecting payments the same day you complete the application.

After you start collecting payments, the Payments Integration page will also include tools to view and manage payouts, transactions, and disputes.

For more details, read our article on [Payments Integration].

Text Messaging (optional)

We highly recommend you also enable Text Messaging as it can help you communicate with your customers and have a much higher engagement rate than email. (meaning, more people will see and read your communications such as reminders and notifications)

Text messaging is a separate $5/mo charge that also requires you to purchase a bundle of credits in order to send messages. For the full details, read our article on [Text Messaging].

After choosing a phone number, our team will reach out to collect details about your business in order to comply with regulations around text messaging.

Create Plans & Products

Next, you'll want to add the products, services, and other items in order to create Plans.

In BlazeRoutes, a Product can have one of 3 types:

  • Product - e.g. bait box, trap, mouse trap, etc
  • Service - e.g. cobweb cleaning, weed removal, etc
  • Chemical - Demand CS, Alpine WSG, etc

Each of these product types can have a default price associated with it and the Chemical type can also include measurement units and EPA number. Optionally, a Chemical can also be dilutable and will allow specification of the default dilution ratio.

Products also include the ability to set default Targeted Areas. (e.g. interior baseboards, exterior perimeter of home, etc)

Once you have created your Products, you'll want to setup your Plans. A Plan services as the bundle of Products, schedule, and pricing for your business.

For example, you may have a Plan called "Basic Bug Service" that has a default duration of 30 minutes, an initial price of $50 and a recurring price of $70 that is set to happen every other month.

Agreements

BlazeRoutes allows you to include a custom service agreement that will be generated and optionally sent for e-signature along with Plans. To add your agreement, just navigate to the Settings -> Agreements section and upload your logo and Service Agreement Text.

Customers

You're now ready to add your customers to BlazeRoutes. To add your first customer, simply click the plus (+) next to Customers in the sidebar. This will bring up the new customer window where you can go through the flow of adding the customer details, assigning a service plan, adding a payment method, sending an agreement, and setting an initial appointment.

For more details, please see our article on [Adding Customers].

If you are transitioning from another system and have your customer data available in a spreadsheet, you can also use our Import feature to add your customers in bulk. For details on this process, please refer to our dedicated article on How to Import Customers.

Finally, you'll want to add the appropriate Plans to your newly imported customers and you'll be ready to begin routing and scheduling your appointments.

Routes

You're now ready to create your first route. A Route is simply a collection of service appointments for a calendar date assigned to service technicians. To create your first route, navigate to Routes in the sidebar and click the "Add route" button and choose a date.

This will take you to the Routes view where, on the left, you will see a Service Due date range picker with a list of routable users below it and a map displaying appointments due, on the right.

To create your first route, simple click the toggle switch next to the desired user and begin clicking the gray appointment locations in the order you want. (this order can be changed by dragging and dropping the list below the selected user)

Congratulations, you've now setup your first route! Your technician can now download the BlazeRoutes app and start making customers happy.
